Sequence of Construction

The cost of repairing damage is often underestimated because the costs of removing and replacing work in the way of access to the damage is not considered. For example:

  • If your foundation is damaged, you may need to remove wood flooring to access the crawl space for construction. You may also need to remove walks or patios running next to the foundation.
  • Repairs to exterior walls may require landscape removal.
  • If rafters or ridge beams are damaged, you may need to remove the roof to access the attic for construction.
  • If you can't drive a truck into your back yard, you may need to remove fencing or landscaping to repair damage on the rear of the house.
